FESTIVAL FINALE: VIVA BRASIL!

Letting loose in Brazil

Brazil’s mix of African drumming, Portuguese melancholy and indigenous traditions produce a potent and all-pervading musical culture, lived and loved on the streets, bringing together rich and poor. On the program are seminal works by Milhaud, classic works by Villa-Lobos, Brophy’s take on the streets of Rio, and a percussion finale to top it all off.
