The sound and taste of chocolate

Say thank you to your mum and spoil her at our special Mothers’ Day concert. This Mother's Day, the Festival is turning the Fitters' Workshop into a Chocolate Factory for a family concert with Tobias Cole, disguised as Willy Wonka and many of the Festival musicians who are in town. Mum can enjoy an artisan, handmade chocolate from local chocolatiers Enigma Chocolates, with other chocolate treats provided for the kids, complete with music swoon numbers by Bach (the chocolate aria he always wanted to write), Franck (his sweet ode to manna from heaven), and much more by Massenet and Tchaikovsky. Local composer Sally Whitwell has even written a new chocolate song especially for the occasion.

Tobias Cole, Children’s Choirs (ANU Vocal Fry, Turner Trebles, CCS New Voices directed by Tobias Cole), Anna McMichael, Alice Giles and Festival Young Artists.

J.S. Bach: A few bites of the "Chocolate Cantata", op. posthumous
C. Franck: Panis angelicus
J Massenet: Meditation
Jacques Ibert, Entr’acte
P.I. Tchaikowsky, Andante Cantabile from Quartet No. 1 in D
