Gift in a will

A gift in your will is a wonderful way of sharing your love of music and ensuring that others can enjoy the Canberra International Music Festival into the future. Your gift will make a significant contribution to the Festival and help us to continue providing audiences with exceptional musical experiences.

Leaving a gift to the Festival in your will (bequest) can take many different forms including:

  • A specific amount of money

  • A specific portion of your estate

  • Assets such as property, shares or works of art

  • The residual assets of an estate – what is left after other gifts and estate costs have been met.

For legal advice, please refer to the Public Trustee in your State or Territory.

The purpose of your gift

Our team can work closely with you to help you decide what activity or project you could support as part of your gift. You might want to create a prize for artists, create a new program or commission new works - there is space for you to be creative in your support. We recommend that a non-specific bequest be made to the Fund, providing the Festival with the flexibility to respond to priorities that may not have been identified at the time the gift instructions were written. We encourage gifts that focus on capacity building.

Wording of gifts in wills

As circumstances vary between individuals it is important that you consult with your professional advisors for advice on wording of your gift.

How will my gift be managed?

Your gift will be managed by the Pro Musica Board and used according to your wishes.
