Commissions - A MAJOR LIFT!

Become a founding member of A Major Lift by donating a minimum of $500
to our campaign between 15 October and 16 November 2018.

A Major Lift is a new donor circle to raise money to commission Australian composers to write music that will premiere at the Canberra International Music Festival.

Your support will have double the impact thanks to a Creative Partnerships Australia Plus1 grant, every dollar you donate to CIMF for new music by 16 November 2018 will be matched by a dollar invested in the Festival’s capacity to commission new music in the future.

Why donate now? Because if we reach our inaugural A Major Lift target of $25,000 for new music by 16 November 2018, the Festival will receive Plus1 ‘matched funds’ of $25,000 to invest in a customer relationship management system (CRM). The Festival relies on the wonderful generosity of financial and in-kind supporters. A CRM will harness technology to give our fundraising and donor relations a major lift that will last!

Diverse Voices. The Festival is proud to commission diverse voices in composition including indigenous and female composers, both of whom are under-represented in contemporary art music. We also support and nurture the talents of the next generation of Australian artists, providing exciting opportunities for young composers to create new works. Our 'thank you' to donors. Your donation (minimum $500, but no maximum) is tax deductible. Donations will be acknowledged in our 2019 Festival program and on our website. We respect your privacy and you can nominate to remain anonymous. You, and fellow Major Lifters, will be invited to our special ‘Meet the Composer’ donor event on 2 March 2019. This will be a chance to spend a summer evening meeting the minds behind the music.
