Bach was the first composer in history to actively engage with musical pedagogy. He left an unprecedented legacy of work that remains as relevant now as it was in Leipzig in the 1730s.


11am Art of Fugue: everything you always wanted to know about the fugue but were afraid to ask! This public talk by Festival director Roland Peelman will include the public analysis of two Bach fugues from The Art of Fugue performed by saxophone quartet as well as the Bach Akademie Australia string quartet,

12pm The Children’s Bach: extracts from Bach’s Notebook for Anna Magdalena performed by festival artists Tobias Cole, Korneel Bernolet and Jonathan Lee with students from CGGS.
