Hosted by the Austrian Embassy in Australia
2018 Festival - Special Fundraising Event
Australia Piano Quartet violist James Wannan and talented young Canberran singer Chloe Lankshear join Artistic Director Roland Peelman in this intimate fundraising event in support of the Canberra International Music Festival. A selection of works by Franz Schubert is followed by full buffet dinner with many choices including vegetarian options. Wine, dessert and coffee will be served.
Dress: smart casual. No tickets at the door. Please book by 25 Feb for catering purposes.
Due to circumstances out of our control Chloe Lankshear has had to withdraw from this week's performance at the Austrian Embassy. She is replacing an indisposed singer in the Adelaide Festival's production of the opera Hamlet by Brett Dean. We are extremely fortunate, however, to have secured the services of Dutch-Australian tenor Koen van Stade at short notice. Koen will perform five songs by Franz Schubert with Roland Peelman at the piano. The rest of this Schubertiade remains unaltered.
Chloe can be heard at the upcoming festival in Handel's Israel in Egypt on April 30 as well as in the screens from Monteverdi's Ritorno on May 2.
