Sonya Lifschitz plays Tchaikovsky
In 1875, the editor N.M. Bernard approached Tchaikovsky with the idea of writing 12 short piano pieces, one to be published each month in his magazine Nouvelliste. Tchaikovsky titled his pieces after the months of the year, calendar snapshots on the passing of time. In so doing, they’ve become timeless. Muse is wheeling out Calvin Bowman's 1927 Schweighofer baby grand piano for this special performance of Tchaikovsky's The Seasons featuring Sonya Lifshitz. A nostalgia-filled musical evening to quieten your inner revolutionary.
Time: 8:30pm arrival for 9pm performance
Tickets: $45 (includes a glass of wine, bread and cheese)
